St Anne’s newest Offshore has enjoyed an impressive first month since setting sail as a new-look pub with rooms in mid-March, with the newest reopening from The Inn Collection Group making waves on the Lancashire coast.
Officially opened by “After the Flood” star Jonas Armstrong, the debut weekend was a fun-filled three days, with Victorian fairground attractions to enjoy and the building bathed in light of an evening, to celebrate its new status as a beacon of hospitality.
Enticing people to sample the venue first-hand, more than 500 people took up the offer of a free welcome drink over the first week as a stream of customers flowed through the doors sampling both its well-stocked bar and freshly cooked pub-style dishes.
Appropriately for a seaside venue, proper Fish and Chips and the Crispy Fish Bun proved to be the most popular plates from the kitchen, whilst Madri and Guinness were the drinks that customers ordered most frequently.
That theme continued throughout Offshore’s inaugural month, with more than 300 Fish and Chips (out of more than 3,000 total plates of food), 1700 pints of Madri and 729 pints of Guinness served to date.
Launching before the height of spring has seen a steady start to guests checking into one of the inn’s 98 new-look bedrooms, but the easter weekend showed what Offshore can expect at the height of the season, with 82% average occupancy over the Bank Holiday weekend.
In total 1,769 guests have spent a night with strong feedback being left with reviews on platforms including Booking.com, Google and Tripadvisor.
Sarah Macintosh, general manager at Offshore said: “It’s been a good start to life for Offshore and it has been great to see so many people coming down to try us out as one of the newest places to eat and drink in St Anne’s and see what we have done during the refurbishment.
“We had an excellent launch event that announced our return and since then the team have started to bed in and find their feet. We had a good Easter and we’re now looking forward and gearing up towards a busy summer.
Ideally placed on St Anne’s South Promenade, Offshore is The Inn Collection Group’s largest property by number of bedrooms, with the stunning redevelopment of the old Lindum and Carlton hotels, creating an incredible 98-bedroom site.
Overlooking St Annes Pier with the Ribble Estuary beyond and two miles south of Blackpool, the original Lindum Hotel was the group’s first site purchased in Lancashire and was bought from operator HY Hotels in November 2020.
Granted planning permission for the renovations in March 2022, the transformation has created a cosy pub on the South Promenade with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views out over to the Irish Sea.
A newly built outdoor terrace not only enhances the number of covers available at Offshore but will also help the venue maximise its prime coastal seaside location, allowing, diners, drinkers and guests to enjoy the fresh sea air.
Open all day, every day, Offshore joins the illustrious Midland Hotel in Morecambe in The Inn Collection Group’s Lancashire portfolio and is one of 30 inns currently open across northern England and Wales.
Food is served at Offshore from 07:30 to 21:00, with breakfast served until 10:30, light bites between 11:00 and 17:00 and the inn’s full main menu from noon until 21:00.
Table bookings are not required, although can be made for parties of eight or more to ensure they can dine together as a group, whilst drinks are served up until closing at 23:00.
