2024 continues to be the year of The Bull for The Inn Collection Group after The Bull’s Head Inn, Beaumaris walked away as winners of the best B&B, Inn & Guesthouse title at the Go North Wales Tourism awards.
Taking place in Llandudno at Venue Cymru, the glittering annual event gathered together some 400 representatives of the north Wales tourism and hospitality industry to celebrate their dedication, skill and achievements.
Recognising everything from attractions and accommodation to events and suppliers, The Bull’s Head Inn team earned their place as a finalist through an application that scrutinised their dedication to providing memorable experiences and incorporating a sense of place.
Coming out on top in a shortlist of four, The Bull’s Head Inn’s win now sees the venue qualify for the national Visit Wales awards in March 2025.
The Go North Wales award is the third accolade picked up by the Beaumaris Inn this year, having previously won the county and regional titles at the 2024 Pub & Bar awards.
Reflecting on his pub’s latest awards triumph, general manager at The Bull’s Head Inn Paul Garth said: “We’ve had an excellent year and to win this award is a huge honour with such strong competition both in the number of applicants and the quality of our fellow finalists.
“We’re proud of what we offer at the inn, from our warm welcomes to our tasty food and drinks and relaxing bedrooms and we’re delighted that the judges felt we deserve the award.
“The team work tirelessly to give a good experience, and this recognition gives them a boost.”
Acquired by The Inn Collection Group in November 2022, The Bull’s Head Inn has a venerable history of providing hospitality on the isle of Anglesey, with an inn found on the site since 1472.
It has returned to that traditional style of hospitality since becoming part of the Newcastle-based pub group, offering relaxed drinking and dining all day, every day and comfortable bedrooms in which to enjoy a great night’s sleep.
Oozing character, The Bull’s Head Inn boasts everything that would be expected of a traditional inn from an array of local historical artefacts (allegedly including Beaumaris’ original ducking stool) to three separate roaring open fires to warm next to.
In honour of his visit, whilst chronicling the shipwreck of the steamship Royal Charter, all rooms in The Bull’s Head Inn are named after characters created by Charles Dickens as opposed to numbers, adding to its unique charm.
Whilst The Bull’s Head Inn has been flying the flag for The Inn Collection Group solo in Wales for the last two years, it will soon be joined by The Swallow Falls Inn at Betws-y-Coed which is currently under renovation.
With an award-winning stablemate already showcasing what to expect when the multi-million-pound project is completed, The Inn Collection Group CEO Sean Donkin says it is a reason to be excited for the opening of the newest venture.
He said: “We are incredibly proud of Paul and the team for delivering fantastic hospitality and for impressing in two separate and fiercely contested competitions.
“They have fully embraced what The Inn Collection is about since they became part of the group and by delivering our offering to such a high and consistent standard, are showing that our model works well in Wales.
“Whilst it will have its distinct character, The Swallow Falls Inn will operate to the same standards and offer the same quality as The Bull’s Head Inn, so we fully expect it to impress equally when it reopens next year.”
