It has been a week of anniversaries for The Inn Collection Group as two of its newest sites celebrate-inn their “birthdays”.
The Northallerton Inn turned one on June 6th with The Seaburn Inn completing its second full year of trading on June 8th with both sites enjoying a strong twelve months.
Created by the conversion of the old police station in the North Yorkshire market town, The Northallerton Inn has proven to be a welcome addition to the high street.
Opening five years after the last case was closed and after an 18-month renovation programme, the ground floor of the Grade II listed building has been transformed into a series of contemporary, relaxed spaces where people have been choosing to spend time in their droves.
It has proved a popular venue at which to stay too with its first year delivering an impressive 74% occupancy level and BAE Systems making it the place for their staff working at nearby RAF Leeming.
The Northallerton Inn has been making a difference in its community too, with support of aspiring young footballers at the North Yorkshire Soccer Academy via its Give Inn Back fund, whilst its position in the Richmond parliamentary constituency has seen the venue paid a visit by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Sitting proudly overlooking the golden sandy beach of Seaburn Bay, The Seaburn Inn is a new-build site that opened its doors in 2021 that has established itself as a firm feature of the Wearside foreshore.
Offering views captured in seascapes painted by renowned artist LS Lowry (an example of which recently sold for more than £1m at auction) The Seaburn Inn has enjoyed a stellar second year of trading.
Scooping a trio of awards at the group’s internal awards evening in March including the overall Inn of the Year title was a just recognition of the sterling work carried out by the staff at the site in “making people happy”.
A 40-bedroom venue sitting on the site of the old Pullman Lodge Hotel, The Seaburn Inn rose phoenix-like during the Covid-19 pandemic, providing a source of fascination for the lady who would go on to declare the site open.
Checking daily on her ‘orange and limes’ – a reference to the Hi-Viz-wearing construction workers – Lyn Overend used the construction of the site to overcome the monotony and loneliness of lockdowns.
After pulling the first pint, Lyn went on to enjoy a VIP suite in one of the inn’s sea view suites, getting to experience hospitality from The Inn Collection Group first-hand.
Well received by visitors and residents alike, The Seaburn Inn has also been making its contribution to its community under the stewardship of GM Lewis Hegarty, with its Give Inn Back donations making a difference to Pass Soccer Academy, Whitburn Cricket Club, Fulwell Infants School.
It has also helped to spread Christmas cheer for the last two years, hosting a complimentary Christmas party for residents at a nearby care home to provide an entertaining afternoon for them to enjoy.
Part of a 32-site strong, dog-friendly estate, The Seaburn Inn and The Northallerton Inn are key venues from which people can eat, drink, sleep and explore, offering delicious food, well-kept drinks and the conviviality of a traditional pub.
