Cosy inns across the north of England and Wales are getting behind a drive to deliver Christmas to every child this December, as The Inn Collection Group lends its support to Cash for Kids’ annual Mission Christmas campaign.
Helping to make sure more than 280,000 children and young people had presents to open on Christmas Day in 2022, Mission Christmas is the UK’s largest Christmas toy appeal which the group’s 28 trading sites are supporting in a variety of ways.
From inns serving as drop-off points for kind-hearted customers to leave their donated gifts, to the option to add £1 to the bill and raise funds to provide further support to the campaign, The Inn Collection Group is well placed to make a positive contribution to this year’s Mission Christmas.
With all ages from early years up to 18 helped by the campaign, the wish list of gifts is a diverse roster, with everything from bibs and teething rings, dolls, and puzzles, to remote-controlled toys, craft kits and make-up all gratefully received.
Donated presents should be new and unwrapped, with the final date for drop-offs at an inn falling on Monday, December 18.
Away from donating presents, guests at the inns can also contribute to the present drive by opting into a £1 addition to their bill when eating at any of the group’s warm and welcoming properties throughout November and December.
Allowing Cash for Kids to purchase additional gifts needed to satisfy the thousands of applications made to the charity, the donation can be made simply by asking serving staff to add that £1 at the point of order.
For customers unable to visit an inn before the end of the year, a fundraising page is also live to allow everyone with a link to The Inn Collection Group to get involved with making a difference in the communities that the group serves.
All gifts and monetary donations stay local to the area in which they are made, meaning that the help the inns and their customers make stays close to home.
The Inn Collection Group’s support of the Mission Christmas campaign builds on fundraising for Cash for Kids in early summer when the £1 on the Bill programme featured across the group’s estate.
Discussing the involvement with this year’s drive, PR and communications manager Andrew Robson said: “Mission Christmas is a well-established campaign that makes a real difference in communities across the UK and one that we are delighted to be supporting this winter.
“Inns are historically at the heart of their communities and by making our sites a place for people to drop off presents that they are donating to the campaign, we can fulfil that function for the campaign.
“We are also hoping that through our incredible customers, £1 on the Bill will raise vital funds that allow Cash for Kids to purchase any presents after the drive closes and make sure all the applications that are made to them receive a gift to open on Christmas Day.”
