Little Miracles enjoy Santa visit to The Commissioners Quay Inn

6th January 2025

Christmas came early for children in Blyth on Monday (December 23), as a very special visitor from the North Pole paid a pre-Christmas visit to The Commissioners Quay Inn.

Taking time out from his busy preparations for Christmas Eve, Santa Claus and one of his little helpers stopped by to make a magical morning for some 100 guests at a special Breakfast with Santa event supporting Little Miracles NE.

It was an opportunity for the parent-led support group for families of children with life-limiting conditions to spread a little festive cheer ahead of the big day, with a delicious breakfast and gift for every child who spoke with jolly St Nick.

The event was the latest activity to support the group by the team at The Inn Collection Group’s pub in South Northumberland in 2024, having raised £3,485 with a sponsored walk from Tynemouth back in November.

2024 has been a busy year of fundraising for the team at the inn, with Little Miracles joined by Macmillan Cancer Support and Community Food and Friendship Blyth also being supported over the year.

This has seen the Commissioners host coffee mornings, bake sales, quiz nights and a special cocktails and carols event to support these worthwhile causes.

Combined with their ongoing sponsorship of Blyth Rangers football club through The Inn Collection Group’s Give Inn Back initiative, almost £10,000 has been raised by the kind-hearted customers and team at the inn.

With their efforts fostering a community spirit on both sides of the bar, general manager Scott Ramsey is proud of the support his inn has been providing.

Speaking after the Breakfast with Santa event, Scott said: “We’ve been keen supporters of Little Miracles for just over a year and I was delighted that we were able to host a really special pre-Christmas get-together for the group.

“The work they do supporting families who have children with life-limiting conditions is incredible, and it only happens when the community gets behind them, so it was an easy call to dedicate one of our Santa events to them.

“There were plenty of smiles around the inn and our team did a fantastic job to deliver a fun and welcoming morning for everyone.

“This was on top of all of the other fundraising initiatives we’ve undertaken this year and was a great way to launch into what is going to be a busy Christmas and New Year.

“Once that is done, we will be sitting down and discussing how we continue to make a difference to good causes in and around Blyth and I’m looking forward to another where we give back to our community
