If it is a getaway filled with fresh air and long walks you are looking for, The Coniston Inn is ideal. Overlooked by the iconic Old Man of Coniston, The Coniston Inn sits on the edge of Coniston water, meaning you are only a stones through from the 14 mile walk around the shore. Why not push yourself with a longer walk, climbing the fell up to The Old Man of Coniston itself. This challenging walk scales over 2634ft and is about 10.5km, taking roughly 5 hours, so make sure to pack your hiking boots!

Just down the road you will also find the Alnwick Gardens, with something for everyone, including beautiful flower displays, water features and even a poison garden. The Hog’s Head Inn is also just a short drive to the stunning Northumberland coastline, where you can soak in unbeatable views of the North Sea, visit delightful seaside towns such as Alnmouth or Amble and you may even be lucky enough to see a seal!

Just a short stroll to the busy town of Ambleside, this fantastic inn is brilliant to explore local shops from, as well as the breath taking surrounding views.
